26 weeks

Our baby is officially two pounds! I had a growth ultrasound last Friday and baby is growing right on track.  As soon as Hudson heard the heartbeat he said, "Wow."  We are so thankful that pregnancy has been easy so far.  I was at the Doctors so much when I was pregnant with Hudson that it is a welcome difference to not have to go back for another month this time around.   Next up on my baby agenda is taking the glucose test.  I am feeling really good overall just pretty tired most of the time.  Taking care of a toddler while being pregnant is exhausting!  I usually take a nap with Hudson so that is helping out a lot.  We are having some gorgeous weather lately so we are spending as much time as possible working in the yard before the super hot summer weather starts.

Me and my happy little dude

We asked Hudson what we should name the baby and he suggested, "Big Rock."   He is slowly warming up to the idea of having a baby in the house, sort of.  We saw our friends brand new baby this week and he gave her kisses and was very sweet.  That night Marc asked Hudson if he wanted a baby to live at our house and Hudson said, "No way!"

Super Tired Mama
This baby starts kicking like crazy as soon as I get into bed which is exactly like Hudson used to do.  Maybe this baby will be another night owl like Huddy but I am hoping this little one likes to go to bed early.  Speaking of night owls, Hudson is waking up from his nap so I am out of here. Hopefully I will be back sooner rather then later to update!

20 weeks

Half way there? What?  Hudson was two weeks early so we could be more then half way there. Either way this baby will be here in just a few months!!   How do you like that fence? My handy Husband put it up all by himself.  The little Meyer Lemon tree we planted when we moved in actually his little tiny lemons right now.

So tired and only half way there!
This week I'm starting to really feel pregnant.  Sure, during the first trimester sickness I knew I was pregnant but now it is starting to get real.  Baby is kicking all the time and my belly is starting get in the way.   My uterus is still very sore so I think my belly will pop soon.  I'm sill holding steady at about two pounds gained.  I don't have any cravings and we are eating pretty healthy around here so I am very happy with my progress so far.

Marc felt the baby kick for the first time this week.  Always such a sweet moment.

One small bite of onion is giving me heartburn, usually.  Last night I ate onions and was just fine but every other time I've had them I have had heartburn. This is a bummer since we eat onions all the time.   There is good news though. I'm finally enjoying coffee again! I couldn't drink it at all the first trimester. Around 14 weeks I started drinking it again but it just wasn't the same.  This week it tastes delicious. Finally!   The only time I had caffeine when I was pregnant with Hudson is when they told me I should before a few sonograms.   This time around I am drinking up to a cup a day because pregnancy plus a toddler is really exhausting.

At first Hudson was really excited to become a brother but then several of his friends became big brothers and sisters and he realized what a baby really was and he isn't to excited about the idea anymore.

This is a regular conversation around here:

-Hudson, do you want a brother or sister?
-No!

-Hudson, what should we name the baby?
-No!

I know once the baby gets here and we settle into a routine that he will be an awesome big brother.

18 Weeks

So, apparently you really do show sooner with your second baby!  I am a bit surprised by how fast my body is changing during this pregnancy. This time around I am being much more cautious of my weight gain and so far I have put on less then two pounds.  My goal is to not gain more then 20 pounds which is about a third of what I gained with Hudson.  Yea, I gained quite a bit with him so here's to hoping I can do better this time around.

I had an anatomy scan at 17 weeks and baby was looking great and is growing right on track.   So far my septate uterus is not causing any issues at all.  Baby was pretty snuggled up and had no interest in letting us get a good profile shot so this pic is all we got.

So tiny and precious.

We decided not to find out if this baby is a boy or a girl.   I am super excited about being team green! Also,  I think we might be kind of crazy for doing this since we are no where near picking names.

This is going to be pretty tough for us since every conversation we have about names goes like this:

Me, "Hey Babe do you like this name"
Marc,  "No"

I am really hoping we have a couple of names picked out before baby's arrival but at the rate we are going that might not happen.

I am starting to feel really good which is nice because the first trimester was pretty rough for me.  I was so sick and had intense food aversions.   I never knew when it would strike but pretty much anything with any sort of strong smell was not tolerable to me at all.  Taking vitamins was impossible as the smell made me sick.  Yuck!  Thankfully, I found a natural vitamin which I am able to take and doesn't make me sick at all.  My only issues now are a bit of tingling and numbness in my right index finger and my uterus is pretty sore.  Oh, and I am really tired most of the time.  My exhaustion is mostly due to taking care of an active toddler who likes to go to bed late and get up early and likes to get up at least once a night.  Please let this new baby love to sleep as much as I do!  And if this baby doesn't cry for hours on end for the first six months that would be great too.

Life Updates

So, it has been a long while since I have posted.  The break was unintentional so here is a quick update of our life the past couple of months.

As usual there have been lots of play dates.  Hudson loves going to the park, swimming and Chuck E Cheese.   He loves the Scoop Bob the Builder ride at Chuck E Cheese.

The weather has been gorgeous and we have been going on walks just about every day.  Bob the Builder frequently comes along for walks.

We have been spending a lot of time working in the yard.  Marc planted a new Crepe Myrtle tree in the front yard but not before Hudson spent at least half an hour playing in the dirt hole.

We have taken two weekend trips to Disney World.   Hudson had such a great time and so did we.

IMAG6882.jpg

We spent a day at Animal Kingdom and Hudson loved petting the pigs.

IMAG6830.jpg

We spent the evening at The Boardwalk.  While we were there he had his first ice cream cone and watched a magician who totally mesmerized him.

IMAG6857.jpg

We spent two days at Epcot and Hudson loved meeting all the characters.

Last week Hudson got sick for the very first time. He has had a couple of minor head colds but this time he got the stomach flu.  We spent a few days snuggled up watching Netflix.  Hudson had his sweet personality the whole time.

Spooner family of four coming up this summer!  We are so excited to be welcoming this little bundle of love into our family.

I will be back tomorrow with an update on our new little addition.

Florida Gardening

What do you do when its a beautiful sunny January day in Florida?  Why you plant a palm tree, of course.   Marc found this Fox Tail Palm from a grower on Craigslist.

After supervising the planting Hudson went for a climb.  He is getting really good at climbing his rock wall.

Christmas 2012

This was such a fun Christmas.  Hudson really understood what presents were and he patiently waited for the big day to open them all up.  My parents were here visiting from California so we all were looking forward to Christmas morning.

Photobucket

He was super excited to get up and wanted to head out to the living room right away.  I snuggled him in bed for a few minutes while Marc got my parents up and then we headed to the living room to get the presents open!  Thomas the Train was a huge hit.

Hudson passed out every one's gifts and even took time to show Grandpa exactly had to open them up.

By the time we headed outside to see the rock wall from Grandma and Grandpa Hudson was worn out so he took some pretend naps to re-energize.

He took climbing very seriously!

This was the most fun Christmas yet since Hudson was really into celebrating.
